1. Summary

• Fliq does not require an account to use.
• Your photos, projects, drafts, and settings are stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
• All photo editing, including background removal, runs on your device.
• We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand general app usage and to detect crashes, so we can improve the App.
• In versions of the App that include advertising, we use Google AdMob, which involves limited data collection by Google and its advertising partners.
• Where the App offers AI-based features, the photo you select for that feature is sent to a processing provider to produce the result. Those features are marked in the App, and section 3.3 explains how they work.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not use your photos to train AI models.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information stored only on your device

The following is created as you use Fliq and remains on your device. We do not have access to it:

• The photos you open in the App and the editing steps you apply to them
• Your projects, auto-saved drafts, project covers and thumbnails
• App preferences (export quality, photo format, watermark, auto-save drafts, haptics, save to library)

How photo access works:

• Editing happens on your device. Crop, rotate, straighten, filters, exposure and color adjustments, retouch, brushes, text, stickers, collage layouts, and video templates are all computed on your phone. Nothing is uploaded.
• Background removal runs on your device. It uses Google ML Kit Subject Segmentation. The first time you use it, Google Play services downloads the segmentation model to your device; your photo is not sent anywhere as part of that download.
• We read EXIF orientation only. Fliq reads a photo's EXIF orientation tag so it can display the photo the right way up. Exported files are re-encoded from scratch, so metadata in the original, including any GPS coordinates recorded by your camera, is not carried into the file Fliq saves.
• Saving is your choice. Edited photos and videos are written to a "Fliq" album in your device's photo library only when you save or share them.
• Fliq does not scan or index your library in the background. It reads your photo library only while you have a picker screen open.

If you have Android backup enabled for Fliq in your device settings, Android may include your projects and preferences in the backup stored in your own Google account, so they can be restored when you change devices. We have no access to that backup.

3.2 Information collected automatically by third-party SDKs

To run analytics, crash reporting, and, in versions that include advertising, ads, the following may be collected:

• Usage events, such as which screens are opened, session length, and similar aggregated analytics signals. Screen names only: we do not send file paths, image identifiers, or anything you type.
• Crash and diagnostic data, such as crash logs, stack traces, and device state at the time of a crash.
• Device and technical information, such as device model, operating system version, language, general (coarse) location inferred from IP address, and app version.
• Advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), in versions of the App that include advertising, used by Google AdMob and its advertising partners to deliver and measure ads.

We do not use this data to identify you personally, and the photos you edit are never part of it.

3.3 Photos you submit to AI-based features

Where Fliq offers a feature that produces a result using artificial intelligence, for example generating a stylized portrait or a generated video from your photos, that feature works differently from the on-device editing described in 3.1, and the App marks it clearly:

• Your photo leaves your device. The photo you select is transmitted over an encrypted connection to the processing provider that runs the model, and the result is returned to your device.
• We delete inputs promptly. Photos you submit to an AI feature, and the results generated from them, are deleted from the processing systems once your result has been delivered and within 30 days at the latest.
• We do not use your photos to train models. Neither we nor our processing providers use photos you submit through Fliq to train or fine-tune AI models.
• Results are marked. Images and videos produced by AI features are labeled as AI-generated, both visibly in the App and with machine-readable provenance information embedded in the exported file, so the output can be identified as artificially generated.
• You need the rights to what you submit. Do not submit photos of other people without their permission. The App includes a way to report generated content you consider offensive or inappropriate, and we use those reports to improve our filtering.

We will identify the processing providers used by these features in this policy when the features become available in the App.

3.4 Feedback you send us

If you rate Fliq and choose to send feedback, the App opens your email app with a pre-filled message containing your star rating, the comments you write, and basic diagnostic details (app version, device model, Android version). Nothing is sent until you tap send in your own email app. When you send it, we receive your message and your email address, and we keep it only as long as needed to respond and fix the issue.

3.5 Information we do NOT collect

• We do not require or collect your name, phone number, or contacts, and no account is needed to use the App.
• We do not access your microphone or your camera.
• We do not track your precise GPS location.
• We do not read the contents of your photo library except while you have a picker screen open.

4. Permissions

Fliq may request the following Android permissions:

• Photos and media (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED, and on older Android versions READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): to let you browse and select the photos you want to edit. On Android 14 and later you can grant access to selected photos only, and Fliq works normally with partial access.
• Storage write (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 9 and older only): to save your finished photos and videos to your device's photo library.
• Internet / network access: to send anonymous analytics and crash data, to let Google Play services download the on-device background-removal model, to run AI-based features where the App offers them, and to load advertisements in versions that include advertising.

Fliq asks for photo access only when you open a screen that needs it, not when the App starts. You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in your device settings.

5. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Provide and maintain the App's editing features on your device.
• Produce results for AI-based features you choose to use.
• Understand general, aggregated usage patterns so we can improve the App.
• Detect, diagnose, and fix crashes and technical problems.
• Respond to feedback you send us.
• Display advertisements that support the free version of the App, in versions that include advertising.
• Comply with legal obligations.

6. Advertising

In versions of the App that include advertising, Fliq uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob and its partners may use advertising identifiers and device data to show and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted.

• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and other regulated regions, we request your consent for personalized advertising through a consent prompt before such ads are shown, in accordance with applicable law.
• You can reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).

7. Analytics and Crash Reporting

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to collect aggregated usage and crash data. This helps us understand which features are useful and to fix problems. For more information about Google's data practices, see: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers that process data on our behalf: Google (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Play services, and AdMob in versions that include advertising), and the processing providers behind AI-based features where the App offers them.
• When required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request.
• In connection with a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.

9. Data Retention

Photos, projects, drafts and settings stored on your device remain until you delete them or uninstall the App. Uninstalling removes the locally stored data from your device; anything you saved to your photo library stays there, and anything included in your own Android backup is governed by your Google account settings.

Photos submitted to AI-based features are deleted as described in section 3.3.

Feedback emails are kept only as long as needed to respond and fix the issue.

Data collected by Firebase and AdMob is retained according to Google's retention policies.

10. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information.

10.1 European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. Because Fliq does not require an account and stores your photos and projects on your device, most of your data is under your direct control. For data processed by analytics and advertising partners, you may withdraw consent at any time through the in-app consent options or your device settings.

Our legal bases for processing are: your consent (for personalized advertising where required, and for AI-based features you choose to use), contractual necessity (to deliver a result you have requested from an AI-based feature), and our legitimate interests (to provide, secure, and improve the App).

10.2 California (CCPA/CPRA)

We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law for cross-context behavioral advertising without providing the choices required by law. California residents may have rights to know, delete, and opt out. You can exercise advertising choices through the in-app consent prompt and your device's advertising settings.

11. Children's Privacy

Fliq is intended for users aged 16 and over and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at admin@tarunow.com and we will take appropriate steps.

12. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Material changes, such as the introduction of accounts, cloud sync, in-app purchases, or a change in how AI-based features handle your photos, will be reflected here before those features become available.
